If you want to stay maximum safe during this time when the spread of COVID-19 is predicted to be at its highest, stay home. COVID-19 depends on you exposing yourself by coming into direct contact with people and surfaces that are infected. Don’t give the virus that chance, self-isolate, avoid travel. When you do, you’re helping give the healthcare system the chance it needs to avoid being overwhelmed. Let’s work together to Flatten The Curve.
To take care of yourself and to "flatten the curve" of COVID-19, do these things:
At present, a COVID-19 infection is ranging from mild to severe, but the majority of reported cases have not required hospitalization. In many cases, symptoms have been described as “flu-like.”
If you are experiencing difficulty breathing, chest pain, or if you are feeling very ill, seek immediate attention and go to the emergency department.
Free Screening Assessment:
If you think you may have acquired or been exposed to COVID-19, you can take a free screening assessment online at Virtuwell.
In most cases, your provider will recommend the following treatment:
Cost and Price:
Bellin is here to provide the right care and testing for you during this national emergency. If you are tested for COVID-19, we will ensure this is at no cost to you. If you have health insurance, the majority of health plans are required to waive any patient responsibility. If you do not have insurance, we can help you understand coverage options with government programs, and you will never receive a bill from Bellin. For any non-participating health plans or issuers, our cash price for the COVID-19 test is $155.
People who are at greater risk for severe illness:
To offer dedicated care to patients with respiratory concerns and to protect patients without respiratory symptoms, Bellin Health has opened a dedicated respiratory clinic. Information about the clinic:
The clinic does not offer testing for the COVID-19 coronavirus. If a patient meets certain criteria, he or she will be directed to a testing site with a provider’s order.
“Given the current situation surrounding COVID-19, we need to do everything we can to separate patients who are experiencing respiratory symptoms from those who are not,” said Kathy Kerscher, Bellin Health Vice President of Primary Care. “This helps protect our patients and staff and allows us to more efficiently use our resources to treat the ill in our communities.”
Patients who have respiratory concerns are asked to call their primary care provider for assessment and possible referral to the clinic. Walk-ins will be accepted, but referrals are preferred.
As we work to combat the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, Bellin Health has updated its visitation restrictions to the following:
People whose health is already compromised because of an illness or medical condition cannot afford to risk exposure to COVID-19. Therefore, our policy will not allow visitors who fall into a higher-risk category.
It is possible for pets, particularly pets of owners who have the virus, to carry COVID-19 on their bodies, which could transfer with contact. To eliminate this from possibility, we are temporarily suspending therapy dogs from our facilities until further notice.
Reducing the spread of COVID-19 is the most important health goal any of us can work toward at the moment. For this reason, we’re closing the following:
The centers will be closed until further notice, but members will have the opportunity for virtual group fitness classes and personal training. Watch for more information on Facebook regarding schedules and additional updates. If you have a personal trainer, he or she will be reaching out to you with more information.
